Strategies & Tips[]

As a Bat[]

  • Say hello to one of the riskiest animals to play as. Because its food is only located in enclosed areas such as Towers and Underground where ambushes are very easy, there is a high element of skill in order to level a Bat safely as other animals may ambush the Bat, corner it, and devour it effortlessly. Only the Pigeon is riskier due to its predator list.
  • However, the Bat possesses an incredible skill - the ability to travel underground without suffering from visibility loss. The Bat can use this to its advantage and navigate the underground without a problem, avoiding foes that would try and have a bite of it otherwise as they will be blinded by the depths. It doesn't work with Ghostly Reapers and Demonic Bats, though. They also have full vision underground and have other abilities, too.
  • Navigating the underground is, however, a double-edged sword, especially if the Bat is close from evolution.
    • If you're planning on staying underground for the whole duration of the evolution, make sure to figure out a close exit for when you evolve, as when you evolve into a Seagull, you lose your power to see underground, which can severely hamper your mobility and leave you liable to surprise attacks.
      • That being said, there are areas above ground with Mice. The Tower and the Pyramid both have mice in areas above ground. They're still tight spaces though, so watch out for predators. If you just evolved from eating Snakes, you can stay in the Pyramid until the Blackbird, since Seagulls can also farm in the Ocean near the Pyramid.
      • Try to hang around Mad Bats during the early stage of this evolution, as they can offer both protection from mid-tier predators and will probably lure higher-tier predators away from you. However, when you are close to evolution, get away from them as they will gobble your evolution up like toast.
  • You are not the only creature that can see underground - the Ghostly Reaper and the Demonic Bat can as well, making them a formidable foe when underground. If you see one, exit the underground area immediately, or you will likely be killed.
  • Be especially careful if you navigate through the narrow underground tunnels - predators may see you and quickly rush to the tunnel's exit to devour you, taking advantage of your restricted movement.
  • You can opt to farm in the Sewage Treatment Plant which has Evil Rats that will you level up quickly. However, these damage you too so you have to be careful about eating them.
  • When escaping from predators, there are some things to note:
    • 1- Holy cow, Hornets are a difficult predator to escape! They are your predator after a "2 animal break". You now have to farm near underground lakes just to be sure.
    • 2- Pterodactyls, Swamp Monsters, Cosmic Bats and Reapers cannot get to all the places you can. Inversely, Dragons, Phoenixes, Hornets (all 3 have an ability that drains HP, with the Hornet's condition the hardest to activate), Demonic Bats, Hawks and Eagles can get to all the places you can. Demonic Imps can access a bit more than you.
    • 3- Use your ability as an advantage.

As the predator of a Bat[]

  • As a predator, however, the Bat is generally one of the easiest creatures to ambush due to its food being located in awkward, enclosed areas. Avoid venturing underground, though - the Bat has an advantage over you (being able to see well underground) in this situation - unless you're a Ghostly Reaper or a Demonic Bat.
    • Also, chasing a Bat into an enclosed area might be risky as a bigger predator can come and try to eat you.
  • If you can see underground, Bats are a perfect source of XP, as they'll be in enclosed spaces.
    • However, an Eagle receives incredibly low XP from Bats, so do not try to chase one as an Eagle. Inversely, a Bat gives the highest XP of non-damaging entities to Hornets, so engage a chase until you succeed.
