Strategy & Tips[]
As a Demonic Bat[]
- The Demonic Bat is known for being an extremely annoying predator to most animals due to its ability to stun prey. Use your ability to your advantage and quickly land on stunned or surprised prey, blocking their movement and killing them. Since all hits you do to a player makes him/her dead, your ability makes your XP go up pretty quickly.
- Due to its small size, it can fit in narrow places like the Pyramid, the Castle or the caves.
- You can also choose to stay in the Demonic cave. You have full vision, so you don't have to worry about Small Demons. Demonic Eggs give fair amounts of XP (although half the XP they give to a Demonic Egg Eater) and can still level you up fast.
- Since you will already be there as a Demonic Egg Eater, you might as well go into the cave. However, if there are too many players in the cave, leave the cave. Competing for food is a waste of time. Also, if a Ghostly Reaper enters the cave, a bumping catastrophe may occur, with players pushing each other towards the predator as everyone scrambles for the exits. You can't be sure you won't be the one to get killed.
- Before deciding to have a Demonic Egg feast in the Demonic cave, keep an eye on the leaderboard to look out for existing Ghostly Reapers, especially if there is one around you and spots you approaching the Demonic biome, or some of the Small Demons seem to have been attacked. The Ghostly Reaper is the only animal that can threaten you in the cave (unless another reaper glitched into the cave) so consider the risk. If you seem to identify two cooperating reapers chasing you to the cave, seriously consider not to go into it, because there are only two exits. Instead, choose another narrow corridor like the Arctic cave or the Sewage Treatment Plant. If even in that case you end up cornered in the Demonic cave, try to get to the small corridor in the roof of the central demonic cave (the one with an accessible pool of lava below) and hope that its eggs have spawned - don't eat them, fly above them and use the eggs in there as a shield for you, since reapers can't destroy eggs and are too big to get above them. Hopefully, their water levels will be lower than yours and they'll be forced to get outside the cave in order to replenish their water levels. Use this chance to replenish yours in the lava pool underground and immediately get outside the cave and find somewhere safer (like the Jungle's Black Widow cave) - the trick may not work twice.
- If you decide to play an offensive approach, Mad Bats are the perfect prey as you can also see in the dark, can stun enemies and your small hitbox means you can get into the same areas they can, trap them and kill them easily.
- If you do not want to (or cannot) stay in the Demonic Cave, take the Black Hole to the Arctic. You can hunt for high EXP prey in the Ice Castle underground. Ravens are good prey since they cannot see in the dark, will likely be underground hunting for Penguins, and their long hitbox means that you can land on them, stun them and kill them easily. Ravens are the second-most beneficial food to you. You can also choose to go to the Lemming Cave at the start of the Arctic. You may trap a Snowy Owl or two there, as well as a recently-evolved Hawk or a Mad Bat also hunting for Snowy Owls. The Iced Cave is also a good place to hunt, due to the abundance of Meat and Penguins that is likely to attract high XP prey, but you can get cornered by reapers easily, so consider the risk.
- The Ice Castle itself is a good place to hunt prey. Just be careful of the Yeti wandering around.
- You can use your ability to force players in dangerous liquids like Swamp and Lava.
- The City Underground is a decent place to hunt prey. Many low-tier animals will be there to search for Bread, allowing you to surprise them and kill them easily. While they don't give much EXP by themselves, your ability allows you to rack up a high number of kills, granting much EXP. You can also go to the Sewage Treatment Plant below the City to hunt for Mad Bats.
- That being said, any place with a high quantity of Bread is a good place to hunt for prey. Many low-tier players will be there for the Bread which gives them a decent amount of XP. Your night vision allows you to stalk them through the underground system without them knowing they're in danger. They may also get lost in the tunnels, and one hit from you will paralyze them, leaving them with no chance to escape.
- If your ability is on cooldown, don't bother chasing prey out in the open; it'll very likely fail. The best option is to head underground to corner prey in tight spaces. You can also push prey against the roofs of buildings like the Ice Castle or the Pyramid to kill them. A third choice is to fly around the map eating Woodpeckers, but they give you the lowest XP out of all your food, and they are widely competed for by many animals, so you may fly around the map aimlessly. Of course, you can head back to the Demonic Cave to eat, but it is in a high-end biome.
- This animal is the best to explore underground for Gems, or find Easter Eggs/bugged entities besides Ghost, as it has few predators and all of them have a pretty restrictive hit box in terms of underground navigation, and you have full vision. Watch out for Ghostly Reapers however, as they have a smaller hitbox than higher-tier reapers and can kill you in a few hits.
As the prey of Demonic Bat[]
- Try to avoid it as much as possible and run while their ability is on cooldown. Their damage output is also pretty high.
- If you get hit, you will likely die, especially if you're on the ground. Stay in the air so you can keep evading attacks.
- A Demonic Bat's ability only stops the ability to go up, but the animal can still move from side to side.
- They tend to surprise their prey in tight spaces so try to stay in open areas as their skill isn't that effective there. However, the ability is still good if it isn't used while the animal is flying.
- Don't try to go to the Demonic Biome — a Demonic Bat may choose to keep eating Demonic Eggs instead of players, but some will decide to chase you if they see you in there. Its ability can take you to a hot bath if you touch it, plus don't even waste time to go to this high-end biome.
- If you are getting chased, try to get into a Cloud or a Bush until they get tired. However, remember to replenish water as soon as you can.
- If you are an animal with the ability to swim and hold oxygen in water, try to reach it as you can escape faster.
- If you get stunned, try to drop into a small lake (not an Ocean). You will sink underwater and the stun will become redundant since the Demonic Bat will have to sink down too to get you. Once the stun wears off, quickly fly up, push the Demonic Bat out of the way and dash for a nearby Cloud or Bush. However, you will inevitably take some damage, so don't try this if you have less than 75% health.
- You can also go to the Icebergs in the Arctic. Your walking speed on the Iceberg is the same as your flying speed, making it easier to dodge attacks.
- If you have the Speed ability (Falcon, Eagle, Hawk), use it. The Fear ability does not stop you from using your ability.
As the predator of Demonic Bat[]
- Head to the Demonic Cave. It will likely be there to eat the Demonic Eggs. If you are a Ghostly Reaper, you can directly enter the cave to attack it. If not, wait for it (or its evolution) to leave the cave before killing it.
- Its small size can make it a difficult prey to kill, try to corner them next to a wall and turn their advantages against them.
- You can try to trap a Demonic Bat in the lava, but be careful not to kill yourself.
- As a Cosmic Bat, you deal little damage to it, but if you manage to corner one in Space or the Iced Cave, you can guarantee an easy meal. They are worth tons of XP if you manage to kill one.
Trivia[]
- It is the only bat character that can't eat Evil Rats.
- Relative to the size of its head, it has some of the largest eyes in the game along with the Dragonfly.
- Demonic Bats are relatively rare to find since most of them prefer to stay in the Demonic Cave.
