The Ghost is an animal in EvoWorld.io and the forty-second animal stage a player can achieve. You can spawn as this animal with a level 40 account or higher. It was added on 8 May 2018.
Food Chain Status[]
- The EXP values listed below assume the player has no Bonus Codes or other boosters. If the player does have one, multiply the value shown by the EXP bonus (as a decimal, not a percent) to find how much XP will be gained. However, you don't need to do this, since it will instantly level up by eating one Zombie, even at level 0.
- Can eat:
Entities that the Ghost can eat
- Below is a list of entities that players using the Ghost can eat, and the EXP that is derived from eating that entity. Entities with an orange background below can mutually damage the Ghost
- Can be eaten by:

Strategies & Tips[]
As a Ghost[]
- If you want to evolve to a Ghostly Reaper, head west of the map towards the Swamp and locate the coffin in the Graveyard. Follow the underground path and you will spot a Zombie, your only source of food. Eating one is exactly enough to ensure your evolution to the next stage, as Ghosts require 20,000 XP to evolve, and zombies give exactly that much, even without XP bonuses.
- However, you don't need to do this. The reasons are listed below:
- Ghosts are immortal to everything, which means this is the best opportunity to find a safe spot and take a break from the game (or wait for the possible predator to your evolutions to leave or disconnect), or to explore all the map.
- Unlike with other animals, you will not disconnect from the game if you're a ghost. This makes it theoretically possible to be on the server forever.
- Watch out, you can disconnect and respawn as a fly if you stay AFK for too long! With that being said, don't go afk for too long.
- The immortality (which means that it cannot die from dehydration, lack of oxygen or any attack) and full vision in the dark also allows this creature to search for bugs or bug any moving entity easier (at least, those which the Ghost doesn't phase through). For this reason people may tend to play longer with this creature instead of moving to the next stage out of boredom.
- If you're hunting for Gems, this is a good animal. Your immortality combined with full vision can allow you to search far reaches of the map almost no one goes to. Even with this, however, farming Gems is still relatively slow compared to buying them, so if you really want a premium account in a short amount of time, you should buy gems.
- If you see a reaper when you are eating a Zombie, STOP eating it. The reaper will likely kill you when you evolve, as you lose your immortality and give an incredible EXP boost to the attacking reaper, unless they teamed with you or you are incredibly skilled / lucky.
- If you're feeling daring, you could eat it anyway and try to kill the other reaper allowing you to quickly get to the Grim Reaper/Pumpkin Ghost, depending of the XP you gain.
- If another ghost eats the Zombie, do not worry. Wait for the newly evolved Ghostly Reaper to exit, and the zombie will have reappeared again, as they take a quick 10 seconds or so to reappear.
- Another way to hide from predators when you want to go AFK is to go towards the ocean and arctic biome, then sink yourself down the bottom to avoid being killed by reapers. As the ghost has infinite oxygen and the ability to see through the dark. Reapers can't kill you anyway, but this will prevent a reaper from camping you out waiting for you to come back and trapping you in the Zombie cave.
- Unlike with other animals, you will not disconnect from the game if you're a ghost. This makes it theoretically possible to be on the server forever.
- If a reaper tells you to kill them when you evolve, do not trust them because they could troll. They are most likely wanting to kill you once you evolve.
As the prey of its evolution (Ghostly Reaper)[]
- If you see a Ghost, neither AFK nor exploring the map, do not go into the Graveyard. You're at a high risk of being eaten by the Ghostly Reaper, especially as a Pterodactyl Child and above farming there! However, as a Grim Reaper/Pumpkin Ghost, act quickly in scythe fighting. Similarly, as a Falcon/Eagle/Hawk/Pumpkin farming Mice, Evil Bats, Frogs and Woodpeckers/only Evil Bats and Woodpeckers/Pumpkins, when you spot a Ghostly Reaper, use your ability.
As the predator of its evolution[]
- As a Ghostly Reaper/Pumpkin Ghost/Grim Reaper, pay attention to any Ghosts around. Although this strategy will get you hated, If you spot one not AFK nor exploring the map, rush to the graveyard in the swamps area and camp where the Zombie is located. As it will evolve into a Ghostly Reaper, and its only means of escaping the underground is a three-way road and roots, you may block the way and cause it to run into you from irritation (or, if you are a Ghostly Reaper, you can directly enter the cave), since a water pool was added and unless that player doesn't know it won't run out of water before you.
- The previous trick to block the only way out for a Ghost enjoying their Zombie meal at the Graveyard underground and make them die from dehydration no longer works because the Ghost gained immortality in the 1 September 2018 Update and water was added to the Graveyard underground.
- The Ghost may evolve into the Ghostly Reaper and quench their thirst in the Fire of Death anyways, if they don't know it has water.
- If you are a Pumpkin Ghost or a Grim Reaper, you are likely to run out of water before a Ghostly Reaper spots you camping for it at the exit. The Ghostly Reaper can decide to stay around the underground reservoir until you leave, giving them a chance to escape. You should consider killing the Reaper in ways which let you remain hidden until the Ghostly Reaper runs out of the cave.
- One way is to suspend yourself above the exit of the cave (most likely the left) at a height at which players underground cannot see you, then keep your eye on the Leaderboard. Once you notice it has evolved, be prepared to slice it at the exit! The leaderboard refreshes approximately every 3 seconds.
- The Ghostly Reaper has 3 ways to exit, with one of the exits you cannot enter through. Just wait for it to leave and spam the up and secondary attack button!
Glitches[]
- Although the Ghost should technically be impossible to kill, a glitch may occur that causes you to die at the hands of a reaper. Usually, you don't see the reaper kill you, but rather you come back to the computer and see that you have been killed.
- For this reason, if you're going to take a break as a Ghost, you should hide in a bush or cloud. You can also hide in the small cave above the passage that leads to the Pit of Fire. The entrance hole to this cave is too small for reapers to fit in, and is much closer to the Zombie, which is the Ghost's prey.
- It is actually unknown whether this occurrence is a glitch or a hack used by the reapers.
- If it is a glitch, it is unknown if the glitch causes ghosts to be killable, or if the glitch forces the Ghost to level up to the Pumpkin or the Ghostly Reaper, which can be killed.
- Take note that if you are killed as a Ghost, it is possible to respawn with 0 XP, forcing you to restart as a Fly.
- If you are taking a break out of the game too long, you are also forced to respawn as a Fly, it is unknown if this is most likely a glitch, since even hiding in clouds, bushes, narrows spaces that not even a reaper could fit in, or even in space, you are eventually forced to respawn as a Fly somewhere far from the place you were originally taking a break in.

Trivia[]
- Although the Ghostly Reaper, Pumpkin Ghost and Grim Reaper can eat all living creatures, they cannot eat the Ghost, with the reason "IMMORTAL". But if you think about it, the Ghost isn't even alive, as Ghosts are considered dead in real life.
- The Ghost is the only animal that can't interact with other alive animals (no collision).
- With its ability, the Ghost can live "forever", as the game won't disconnect a Ghost player taking a break. However, staying on a server for too long will get the Ghost "killed", respawning with 0 XP and as a Fly.
- The Black Widow and the Yeti teleportation glitches were best done with this animal due to the fact it is immortal and has full vision underground. But now that it just passes through almost all entities, the best option is the Pumpkin, or the Stone Eater (be careful if there are reapers in the server though). You can also do this as a reaper just don't use your ability, if you do it will just result into killing the Yeti and Black Widow.
- However, the non-playable entities that cannot be damaged, like the Flower, are able to collide with the Ghost.
- You used to be able to skip the Ghostly Reaper with enough XP bonuses, but after the 2/18/19 update, this is no longer possible.
- The Ghost's true previous stage is the Cosmic Bat, as the Overfed Cosmic Bat is merely a transitional stage that cannot do anything for a few seconds.
- It is one of the smallest animals.
- It may be the Cosmic Bat's soul due to it being overfed and slowly dying.
- There is another ghost which appears in the Halloween event.
- If a player spawns as this character, they will spawn in the Graveyard.
