Strategies & Tips[]

As a Pterodactyl Child[]

  • The Jungle biome is the fastest and safest method of leveling up. By eating a few Starfruit, the player will be able to proceed on to Pterodactyl without putting themselves at risk from reduced HP.
  • Now that the Pterodactyl Child can eat Crocodiles, Turtles, Sharks and Crabs which give massive amounts of experience, you no longer have to go ONLY to the Jungle.
    • Beware, however, that the Crocodiles, Turtles, Sharks and Crabs can kill you too if you are not careful, meaning using them for XP is riskier. Furthermore, if there is another Pterodactyl Child or Pterodactyl nearby, you will need to make sure they don't steal your kill.
    • Do not eat Turtles that are underground. Due to your evolution's large hitbox, this will trap you underground, making you very vulnerable to dehydration and higher-end players.
    • You can stay in the Arctic, tropical Ocean or Swamp if you want to evolve there and eat Sharks and Crocodiles, camping in clouds while your health regenerates and refilling on water when needed.
  • Stay alert for higher-end predators, especially a descending Cosmic Bat or a Demonic Imp roaming through the map.
  • Thanks to your Tough skin ability you'll have resistance to the first attack, which can be very useful when fleeing from a reaper or a Demonic Imp.
  • Don't ever go into underground or enclosed areas such as the Iced Cave, as there will not be any edible food for you there and you will be more susceptible to an attack from a Demonic Imp, Dragon or Phoenix.

As the predator of a Pterodactyl Child[]

  • Stay around the Jungle. Despite it not having to go there to level up anymore, by force of habit (and because Starfruit don't hurt them) most Pterodactyl Child players will end up going there too, so you will eventually run into one, if you're lucky. Check the leaderboards to see if one is on the server, so long as there aren't a lot of high tier characters on the server.
  • Its Ability is annoying to deal with, providing resistance against your first attack. It is advisable to wait for it to evolve, leaving it highly vulnerable due to its large hitbox.
  • However, Pterodactyl Children and Pterodactyls cannot use their ability to block fire blasts or fireballs. Therefore, if you are a Phoenix or a Dragon, light them on fire, force them into the water, and land on the top of them.
  • If a Pterodactyl Child is farming Sharks or Crocodiles, use the opportunity to ambush the player when they have the lowest HP after having eaten a Shark/Crocodile. You will need to make sure the Pterodactyl Child is oblivious to your presence or they might camp in a cloud out of an abundance of caution.
