Status Effects are a game element in EvoWorld.io. Status effects effect the player's health, movement, or water/oxygen meters and can be divided based upon their effects and how to obtain them.
Health[]
This type of status effect drains a player's health over time, which is shown by the player with the status effect turning a certain color and flashing every second to represent damage. All of these are received by coming in contact with a Character whose ability gives status effects, and they can only be cleared by drinking water or dying (or getting in the swamp in the case of fire). Status effects can be put on both players and live non-playable creatures (plants do not count). There are three status effects of this type.
Infection[]
Description[]
If a Character is infected, it will appear deep red and loses 1% of its max health per second.
How to Obtain[]
If a Character bites a Mosquito (excluding reapers), there is a 20% chance for the predator to be infected. To be cured, go into Water.
Poison[]
Description[]
If an Character is poisoned, it will appear yellow-green and loses 2% of its max health per second (3% for swamp monster). This can only be removed when going into Water.
How to Obtain[]
If a Wasp/Hornet/Swamp Monster bites a Character, there is a 25%/100% chance for the bitten Character to be poisoned respectively. If the prey of a Beehive touches on, there is also a 25% chance of being poisoned.
Fire[]
Description[]
If a Character has been set on fire, it will appear red and loses 5% of its max health per second (3% for dragon fireball).
How to Obtain[]
If a Demonic Imp bites a Character, there is a 33.33% chance for the bitten Character to be set on fire. If a Dragon's fireball hits a Character, it is automatically set on fire (as well as losing 25% of its max health instantly). If a phoenix uses its ability on you, there's a 100% chance to be set on fire. Note: This status effect can be cleared by entering the Mud in addition to water.

These status effects are applied based upon the player's location. When in a liquid, the drinkable's respective status effect is applied. These slow the player's movement and drain oxygen. Most will replenish water when in them. The Space biome also has a status effect. There are four status effects of this type.
Water[]
Description[]
Slows the player's movement speed down, though having the diving ability will cause movement to be much less affected. Oxygen also depletes in it, but the aforementioned ability will slow this down too. However, water is gained in it and it also clears all health related status effects.

Obtained when in the water.
Mud[]
Description[]
Slows the player's movement speed down significantly and drains oxygen. The effect on movement speed excludes the Swamp Monster. Water is gained slowly in it, and it's gained quicker with the Swamp Monster. It also clears the fire status effect.

Obtained when in the mud.
Lava[]
Description[]
Slows the player's movement speed down significantly, drains oxygen, and drains health. A Character will go from full health to dead in 8 seconds when in lava. The Demonic Egg Eater, Demonic Bat, Demonic Imp, and Phoenix have their movement less affected by it, don't drain health, and gain water when in lava.

Space[]
Description[]
Reduces the effect of gravity on the player, causing them to fall slower and gain more height with every attempt to fly. It also drains oxygen. With the To The Moon ability, gravity is normal and oxygen is lost more slowly.
How to Obtain[]
Obtained when in Space.
Fire of Death[]
Description[]
Causes all Characters below Ghost to rapidly take damage. Characters Ghost and above do not take damage and slowly regain water.
How to Obtain[]
Obtained when in the Fire of Death.
Toxic Water[]
Description[]
Slows the player's movement speed down significantly, drains oxygen, and drains health. A Character will go from full health to dead in 8 seconds when in toxic water.
How to Obtain[]
Obtained when in the toxic water.
Safe Place[]
Description[]
Makes the player invulnerable to other players.
How to Obtain[]
Obtained when in a Cloud, a Bush, an Igloo, the Evo Taxi, or the entry hall of the Battle Arena.
Movement[]
These status effects hinder a player's ability to move around and are applied by certain Abilities.
Fear[]
Description[]
Makes the Character appear purple and makes the Character unable to fly (disables the up arrow or w key). Left/right movement is still possible.
How to Obtain[]
If a Demonic Bat bites a Character, that Character will be scared.
Swoop[]
Description[]
Makes the Character appear purple and makes the Character dive down.
How to Obtain[]
Can be self obtained by using the Swoop ability, which makes it last for three seconds or until the player hits something.
Grabbed[]
Description[]
Makes the player turn gray and attaches the player to the person who inflicted it. The inflictor loses most control of movement and the inflicted loses all control of movement.
How to Obtain[]
Obtained by being affected by the Dragonfly's ability.
EvoTaxi[]
Description[]
You have to wait to travel by Evo Taxi again.
How to Obtain[]
After using the EvoTaxi, there is a one minute cooldown to use it again, during which this status effect appears.
