The Wasp is the fourth playable entity in EvoWorld.io, and can be spawned with an account at level 3 or higher. It was added on 10 April 2018.

Appearance[]

It has three parts. On its back, it has a striped body (Black and yellow patterns) and a stinger, representing its ability. On the middle, it has a black body and two translucent wings. On its front, it has a black head, two default eyes and two black antennae.

Food & Predators[]

The EXP values listed below assume the player has no Bonus Codes or other boosters. If the player does have one, multiply the value shown by the EXP bonus (as a decimal, not a percent) to find how much XP will be gained.

Prey[]

The Wasp can receive EXP from the flower and hive, but it cannot completely consume them and will gain EXP for each second that it touches them.

Skill[]

Sting-ability

Sting

TYPE:
Passive

DESCRIPTION: You have a 25% chance to sting a prey. When the prey is poisoned it loses 2% of max health every second. The only way to be unpoisoned is to drink water.

Strategy & Tips[]

As a Wasp[]

  • The Wasp is currently the first animal that can attack and eat animals of a higher tier than itself. However, the damage output of the Wasp is rather low, making it better to wait for a severely weakened Pigeon/Blue Bird/Hen to come by, or trapping them in the underground system. Otherwise, you have 5 choices:
    • Choice 1: Camp on flowers, which never die. You might also be able to surprise nearby Butterflies with your upcoming evolution (Dragonfly).
    • Choice 2: Eat currants and strawberries, which can be consumed in one bite and may yield high EXP if plentiful. However, be careful, as your non-reaper predators also eat them.
    • Choice 3: Eat cherries on the trees, which yield decent EXP but are highly competed between both prey and predators.
    • Choice 4: Eat Woodpeckers, which yield MASSIVE EXP but can easily be stolen from you due to your low damage output. Also, many of your predators also hunt Woodpeckers, in particular Maroon Birds and Hornets.
    • Choice 5: Sit on a beehive, which can also protect you from SOME predators (Turkeys, Blackbirds, Maroon Birds).
  • It is invincible to poison, as it already poisons its prey (Though not to the toxic water in the Sewage Treatment Plant). This makes escaping from a Hornet far easier than other playable preys of a Hornet.
  • When escaping from predators, there are some things to note:
    • 1: Hornets won't be much of a problem. They can't poison you, making the task of killing you harder. Hornets generally ignore Wasps.
      • 1.5: Both Hornets and Maroon Birds can kill you and each other. Take advantage of this.
    • 2: Use your small hitbox to escape from predators. Blackbirds have nearly the same hitbox as you, so it's better to lure one to a Hawk, much like you did with the Mosquito.
    • 3: Do not stay under a Flower, as you can easily get trapped.
      • 3.5: Countering the 2nd note, do not target a Pigeon, a Blue Bird or a Hen poisoned. Much like how you can trap them if they go underwater, a Hornet can easily trap you as well, especially in shallow, straight lakes with Fish. As said, however, Maroon Birds and Hornets can and will attack each other, since most shallow lakes are often also where the Maroon Bird farms.
    • 4: You should be aware of places with trees. Turkeys will usually be there.

As a prey of the Wasp[]

  • Pigeons, Blue Birds and Hens should avoid trees and flowers in crowded servers, as Wasps will be everywhere. While an individual hit doesn't deal a lot of damage to you, a sting could poison your animal, forcing you into water where more damage can be inflicted. Your animal will likely find itself dead in the long run. It is advised to just avoid trees.
  • Wasps are less likely to be found underground, but they can easily trap you there and it'll be hard to find water if you get poisoned. Try to go deep underground or near a water supply so Wasps above ground can't see you, or they can't kill you with their poison. Be aware of other predators underground though, especially ones that can see in the dark such as the Mad Bat.

As a predator of the Wasp[]

  • Of the two food sources a Wasp will most likely be farming, target the ones on flowers, preferably those below the flower, as it means that it could be trapped if your animal lands on top of it.
  • Aside from reapers and non-playable entities, all of the animals that can eat Wasps also eat Cherries. If a Wasp and you are eating them, you can try to attack it.
  • If a Wasp has chosen to go underground, it's the perfect opportunity to ambush it. Just be careful of your own predators. This won't work as a Turkey or a Maroon Bird (Overly large hitboxes).
  • Wasps will occasionally go to the center searching for prey. It is advised to go there if you want to hunt for Wasps.
  • As a reaper, do NOT target Wasps due to their low EXP reward.

Trivia[]

  • It is the first animal which has the ability to eat a higher tier animal (In this case, animals, because the Wasp can eat three, being the Pigeon, the Blue Bird and the Hen). The second one is the Hornet, which bites the Maroon Bird; and the third is the Swamp Monster, which bites the Demonic Imp. However, it is the only animal whose higher tier prey can't attack back at the predator.
    • All of the Wasp's food (Excluding Flowers) can also be eaten by a Hornet. It may be because they are from the same species.
      • Coincidentally, the Hornet can eat the Wasp itself.
  • It is one of the three animals that can poison another animal, the others being the Swamp Monster and the Hornet.
    • It is also one of seven animals (Mosquito, Hornet, Swamp Monster, Demonic Imp, Dragon and Phoenix) that deplete another player's or NPC's HP with its ability.
  • It is one of the smallest animals.
  • This animal cannot collide with Reapers.
